Summer in Hong Kong is a tough one, with the blazing sun, insufferable humidity and torrential rain threatening to leave you feeling sweaty and sticky. However, if you’re looking to cool down and soak up some refreshing air, we recommend heading to one of Hong Kong’s best public pools.
Located in Ma On Shan, this expansive pool complex offers a beautiful view of Tolo Harbour and comes with facilities including four waterslides (two of them are said to be the fastest in the city) as well as a main swimming pool and training/teaching pools. It’s also a great place to relax and unwind, thanks to its lovely deck chairs and spacious area, with the main pool overlooking Tolo Harbour and the outdoor pool featuring an indoor pirate ship!
Another kid-friendly option, this fab family pool is located in Kwun Tong and boasts a range of fun activities for your little ones. They’ll love the water slides, animals to climb on and the splash buckets, while the adults will love the fact that it has both an indoor and outdoor pool – with the outdoor pool featuring a toddler training pool and some super cool water slides.
This is the perfect option for those with kids in need of some fresh air, as it’s not only a beautiful outdoor pool but a fantastic park to boot. It’s right next to the Victoria Park MTR station and is a great spot for a quick escape from the heat (and Hong Kong’s unforgiving humidity). It’s also got two swimming pools, an outdoor playground and a Jacuzzi – making it a hit with kids and mamas.
If you’re looking for an adrenaline rush, then this is the pool for you! Located on the 76th floor of the W Hotel in Wan Chai, this is the highest outdoor pool in the city and provides spectacular views over the city and harbour. It’s open to non-hotel guests and costs just HK$80 per person on weekdays or HK$120 on weekends.
If you’re not feeling the high-rise heat, head to the swanky new W pool at the hotel and take a dip in their stunning infinity pool with city and harbour views! It’s a must-visit this summer!
