The winner, Team Revent from SCSE, is developing a hardware solution that allows users to receive their receipts on their phones instead of paper.
The event is expected to attract global business leaders and investors, as well as aspiring entrepreneurs from the Singapore ecosystem. The Prince of Wales will present the awards at a special ceremony in November, which will be followed by local activations around the city.
Last year, the prize was awarded to The Future Is Here: Getting Started and Staying Ahead, a collection of essays by leading thinkers on the impact of digital technology. The winning essay was written by Jeremy McKay, CEO of the digital consultancy EY.
Applicants for the singapore prize must have a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree. They must submit a minimum of two recommendation reports. In addition, they must have a minimum score of 700 on the GRE or 550 on the TOEFL.
The NUS Singapore History Prize was established in 2014 to recognise outstanding publications on the history of Singapore. It is one of the highest prizes in the field of Singapore studies, and offers up to $30,000 for a single work that has made an important contribution to our understanding of Singapore’s past. The work must be a book-length publication and address any time period, theme or field of Singapore history. The winner is chosen by a panel of judges comprising senior scholars and historians.
