Hong Kong Pools – Cool Off in the Heat

The sweltering heat of summer in Hong Kong makes swimming an ideal pastime. Luckily, the city has plenty of pool options. Some even offer stunning scenes of the cityscape.

Unlike in many other cities, the city’s public pools have not closed during this coronavirus pandemic. In fact, they have opened in some cases, including those reserved for swimming lessons and classes. This has worried many, especially since HKASA said it would have “catastrophic effects” on the training system that develops elite swimmers.

However, the city’s water supply is tested for safety every day to prevent contamination by faeces or vomit. Despite this, some pools have had to close, and some lane space has been re-assigned to teaching facilities. The city’s LCSD also announced that it will implement a new monthly ticket smart card system, which will allow members to access the pool without having to produce documentary proof of identity.

This may sound like a small change, but it will make entering the pool much easier and faster. The new cards will be printed with the member’s portrait and preloaded with information on the membership validity period, so they can simply show the card to gain entry. This will be a great improvement for those who want to swim during the hot season but don’t have time to provide documents.

There are a lot of reasons to love Hong Kong, but some people don’t enjoy the sweltering heat that comes with it. Fortunately, Hong Kong has its share of amazing swimming pools, where you can cool off and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the city.

Whether you’re looking to practice your laps or just relax, these pools will take your breath away. They’re not only the perfect place to escape from the summer heat but also offer some of the most breathtaking views of Hong Kong.
